OPPOSITES NO LONGER ATTRACT

So the long and the short of this story is… Simon has not only sacked off Steve Jones, but Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul are out of The X Factor USA 2012, too.

Sorry, what?

We're unapologetically huge fans of the show (deal with it) - and therefore completely understand Steve and Nicole. Who can forget Rachel Crow-gate?!

But Paula? This is a surprise and honestly, we're saddened. She was a good judge.

Paula's statement:

"Yes, it's true; I won't be returning to The X Factor next season.

I've learned through my longevity in this industry that business decisions often times override personal considerations. Simon and I, along with Fox and Fremantle, have been communicating about this for a while now, and I have absolute understanding of the situation.

Simon is, and will remain a dear friend of mine and I've treasured my experience working this past season with my extended family at Fox and Fremantle. I want nothing more than for The X Factor to exceed ALL of their wildest dreams. This truly has been a blessing and I am most grateful."

Mr Cowell has released something similarly non-juicy and professional.

There seems little scandal here, just time for fans to reflect on the good times and wait in anticipation of their replacements.
